{"id":2978,"date":"2024-04-20T01:55:00","date_gmt":"2024-04-20T00:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ontariotogether.ca\/?p=2978"},"modified":"2025-02-24T17:40:30","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T17:40:30","slug":"volunteer-appreciation-evening-autism-dog-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ontariotogether.ca\/index.php\/2024\/04\/20\/volunteer-appreciation-evening-autism-dog-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Volunteer Appreciation Evening \u2013 Autism Dog Services"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Autism Dog Services: Heartwarming Stories and Incredible Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Autism Dog Services focuses on providing highly trained service dogs to assist individuals with autism and other related developmental disorders across Southwestern Ontario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Volunteer Appreciation Evening<\/strong><br>Join us for our Volunteer Appreciation Evening at St. James Anglican Church, where we will recognize our dedicated staff, puppy raisers (fosters), puppy sitters, and fundraising committee members. Attendees will also hear testimonials from families who have received their service dogs, and an update from border services on dogs that have had a career change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Training Sessions<\/strong><br>Every two weeks, we meet at St. James Anglican Church on Ellis Rd for formal puppy training classes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Impact Stories:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>\u201cBella works with our daughter Jaime, who is on the autism spectrum. Since Bella\u2019s arrival, we are now able to go places that were previously impossible. Bella grounds Jaime by providing a sense of security. As parents, we feel a safety-net knowing Jaime won&#8217;t run into traffic. We all feel relieved thanks to our autism service dog.\u201d<\/em><br>\u2013 Deb Lytle, Jaime\u2019s mom<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>\u201cLukey joining our family has been life-changing for us. We no longer worry about Ryan\u2019s safety in public.
