Welcome to Let’s Talk! – Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre
Let’s Talk! is a specialized program aimed at supporting newcomer youth on their educational and career journeys. Through creative arts such as drawing, poetry, and drama, along with fostering connections with community mentors, we guide youth in exploring and pursuing their future aspirations. And of course, there’s always the pleasure of indulging in delicious food!
Our Mission
At the heart of Let’s Talk! is our commitment to amplifying the voices of newcomer youth within our community. Our initiatives empower young individuals to positively contribute, broaden their knowledge, and deepen their understanding of Canadian culture, values, systems, rights, and responsibilities. We aim to equip them with the tools and insights to make informed decisions, empowering them to achieve their aspirations and fulfill their dreams.
About Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre
Founded in 1967 by a dedicated group of newcomers, the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre began with the establishment of the K-W Folk Arts Council and the first Multicultural Festival. Over the years, the Centre expanded to provide vital support to newcomers, including interpretation and translation services for both public and private sector clients.
Today, the Centre serves thousands of clients across Waterloo Region and beyond and continues to host one of Canada’s largest Multicultural Festivals annually. As a non-profit registered charity, we are grateful to the generous funders who support our initiatives.
The Centre is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, ensuring our operations remain community-driven and responsive to the needs of those we serve.
